Nürnberger Lebkuchen is a Protected Designation of Origin for gingerbread from Nuremberg, which is July 1, 1996 as a protected geographical indication ( PGI ) recognized under European law. History

The history of the Nuremberg gingerbread can be traced back to the late 15th century.
