Lee Pearson

David Lee Pearson CBE ( born February 4, 1974) is a British dressage riders.

Life

Lee Pearson is the youngest of the three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Lynda and Dave Pearson. Pearson, who was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, came by Caesarean section. In his childhood he was fifteen times operated on. In 1980, he became the first public attention when he received the Children of Courage Award and was presented by Margaret Thatcher at 10 Downing Street. Lee Pearson first attended a special school in Cheddleton, however, could change thanks to the efforts of his parents at age nine in a mainstream school.

His first mount, a donkey named Sally, he received as a child from his parents because he could not move his knee and ankle and therefore not, as his older brothers, was able to ride on a BMX bike. At age nine, he was given a pony as a Christmas present, with 15 years, he bought the first horse, a former racehorse. The interest in horses was in the family, already Lee Pearson's great-grandfather had been regarded as an expert on these animals. First, Pearson but not thought about a career as a rider. He worked in a supermarket, brought him to the Paralympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 the idea to devote themselves entirely to the sport. Among his best horses include Blue Circle Boy, also known as Gus, and Golden gentleman. Pearson has got their own horses.

Sporting successes

Lee Pearson is gegradet in Grade 1b. He won nine gold medals at the Paralympics in Athens, Sydney and Beijing and reached six World Championships and three European titles. He also competes against able-bodied competitors and won here in about Hickstead at the national level. He was elected to the BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year and received the Sportsman of 2004 Award by the Daily Telegraph as well as numerous other awards. Due to his athletic achievements, he was accepted in 2001 in the Order of the British Empire as a member, elevated to an Officer Commander 2005 and 2009.
