Leeway (band)

Leeway is an American Thrash-Metal/Hardcore-Punk-Band from Astoria (New York).

History

The band was formed in 1984 by guitarist AJ Novello and vocalist Eddie Sutton under the name The unruled.

They played mainly live in CBGB in New York City, a club which was known for its performances of hardcore punk bands. From the beginning she stood out from other bands of the genre from by their appearance and musical bonds from the metal and hip -hop. Before they recorded their first album, they opened concerts for famous bands like Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and Suicidal Tendencies.

In 1988, Leeway out the album Born to Expire and support this in 1989 by a tour with the band Bad Brains. By 1995, the band released three more albums and toured extensively throughout Europe, but was never particularly famous or successful. In 1995, after the recording of their latest album Open Mouth Kiss, the band split up.

In 2006, the band played a single concert in the original cast along with the Bad Brains at CBGB.

In 2008, the song appeared Enforcer from her first album Born to Expire in the context of the video game Grand Theft Auto IV, where it was played at the fictional hardcore radio station " LCHC ".
