Legend Entertainment was founded by Bob Bates and Michael Verdu in 1989, US-based developers of computer games based in Chantilly ( Virginia).

Company History

After the demise of Infocom tried the founders to revive the ailing text adventure genre with new graphic elements. Some of the developers like Steve Meretzky previously worked at Infocom. Later Legend also developed 3D games like the Wheel of Time held in first-person view, which is based on the eponymous fantasy novel series by Robert Jordan. Legends last title, on behalf of Epic Games developed Unreal II: The Awakening was not very successful and so in 1998 Acquired by GT Interactive Studio 2003 was signed by the previous owner Atari.

The small company has some notable games developed, which are listed below. Many of the games were adaptations of books. The gateway games are based eg on books of Frederik Pohl, Death Gate and Shannara also play in quite known universes book series.
