Legends of Dune

The Desert Planet - The Legends is a novel trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. After the death of Frank Herbert a trilogy, which describes the history of the peoples in the Dune universe and shows events that are repeatedly mentioned in the other novels emerged.

The events play 10,000 years before Paul Atreides ascends the throne, Emperor of the Universe. They deal with the struggle of the people against the thinking machines, the first Fremen riding the worms, by the formation of the first Mentaten and the discovery of the spice as a means of navigating the Faltraumschiffe.
