Leicester Hemingway

Leicester C. Hemingway ( born April 1, 1915 in Oak Park, Illinois; † 13 September 1982) was an American writer.

He was the only brother of the writer Ernest Hemingway. He wrote six books, including the novel " The Sound of the Trumpet " (1953), based on Leicester's experiences in France and Germany during the Second World War. 1961 " My Brother, Ernest Hemingway " was ( German: "My brother Ernest " ) published a biography of his brother. The work was well received and earned him both recognition as an independent writer and financial success.

On July 4, 1964 Leicester Hemingway created the micronation New Atlantis.

Leicester Hemingway suffered from diabetes mellitus type 2 and underwent numerous surgeries. After years of suffering In 1982 he took his own life.
