History

1872-1945

On May 18, 1872, the Leipzig horse railway ( LPE ) opened the line operation. The road station Reudnitz was the first depot and at the same time the seat of the Directorate of the company. 25 years after the opening had the LPE 1013 horses, 172 wagons and five depots. 1945-1990
