Lelex

Lelex (Greek Λέλεξ ), the first king of Sparta is called Native Laconia. According to him, Laconia was then called Lelegia. He married the Naiad Kleochareia or according to another tradition Peridia. Lelex was the father of Myles, the Polycaon, the Bomolochos and Therapne. He is also referred to as the father of Eurotas. According to Pausanias, the hero of Iop was born in Sparta in his time.

After Lelex death, his son Myles King of Sparta was. Lelex was later revered as a hero and in Sparta erected him a Heroon.
