Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket (actually Daniel Handler, born February 28, 1970 in San Francisco) is an American author and screenwriter. He is also a musician and has at times been a member of the New York band Magnetic Fields, 69 Love Songs on the album he played the accordion.

Life

Handler father fled in his childhood from Nazi Germany to the United States. Handler 's mother was an opera singer. He published the children's book series " A Series of Unfortunate Events ", in German " A Series of Unfortunate Events". It is about the three orphans Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, whose parents perished in a fire. Since then, they are pursued by her relative, Count Olaf ( "Count Olaf " ) who wants to get to the great inheritance of the children.

The first volume of the series ( "The Bad Beginning", German " The terrible start " ) published in 1999. Meanwhile, (September 2007) is the 13th volume of the planned 13 volumes published ( " The amazing end "). As early as September 2006, "The Beatrice Letters" appeared, which has questions answered by the reader. The first three of the series audiobooks are read by Stefan Kurt, the rest of Rufus Beck. The first volumes developed rapidly becoming an insider tip, even among adults, and as the New York Times first published a list of best-selling children's books in the following year, among which were also five volumes of the Lemony Snicket series. In addition to plans for a television series and a computer game, the first three volumes were published in 2004 under the title " Lemony Snicket - Mysterious Events" ( Lemony Snicket 's - A Series of Unfortunate Events ) with Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken and Emily Browning filmed as the main character.

In public appearances to handlers are often considered representative or assistant of Lemony Snicket, and invents some bizarre excuses for the absence of his "bosses".

Handler gives the narrator Snicket, its own personality, he is described in the books, there are details told about him and there was even a biography entitled Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography published.

• Captured by his enemies in a castle was held and was able to free himself by letting himself be print business cards on which he pretended to be an admiral in the French Navy.
• Once with his chauffeur was stuck on an island that was surrounded by man-eating crocodiles.
• The third band in a room writing, looking up the windows on a cemetery.
