Leningrad Cowboys Go America is a road movie of the Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki from the year 1989.

Action

The film tells the story of the Russian band Leningrad Cowboys in the home is not successful and the Council gets to go to America and play there. Finally, her journey through numerous hotels, bars and pubs, they end up at a wedding in Mexico. The audience is enthusiastic and the band creates here after countless failures in the U.S. at last the expected breakthrough.

Background

The original notional Leningrad Cowboys, which were partially played by members of the Finnish punk rock band Sleepy Sleepers, stayed together after the filming under this name, and enjoyed great success as a live band.
