Leona Naess

Leona Kristina Naess (born 31 July 1974 in New York ) is a singer- songwriter.

Biography

Leona Naess was born in New York as a child of a Swedish interior designer and the Norwegian Arne Naess Jr. businessman. Her childhood and youth spent in London, before returning at the age of 18 years in her native city to study at New York University music and anthropology. At that time, she began performing in New York's trendy venues such as The Bitter End to draw attention to themselves. Finally, she signed a contract with Outpost Records, the record label of producer Scott Litt. In 1998, Naess work on her debut album Comatised on, which was released in March 2000. Previously, she worked as a model for Calvin Klein. In 2001 followed the produced by Martin Terefe album I Tried to Rock You But You Only Roll. Through a brief relationship with Ryan Adams producer Ethan Johns, she met the know, with the help of which she released her third album Leona Naess 2003. In January 2004, her father was killed while mountain climbing. Thereupon Naess withdrew from the music business and moved for some time with her mother to London. Your existing since 2003 contract with Geffen Records was dissolved by sides of the label. In 2008 they released their comeback Thirteens, which was released on the label Verve Forecast Records.
