Leonard Olivier

Leonard James Olivier, SVD ( born October 12, 1923 in Lake Charles) is a retired auxiliary bishop in Washington.

Life

Leonard James Olivier joined the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries and received on 29 June 1951, the ordination.

John Paul II appointed him on 10 November 1988 Auxiliary Bishop of Washington and Titular Bishop of Legia. The Archbishop of Washington Cardinal James Aloysius Hickey ordained him on 20 December of the same year the bishop; Eugene Antonio Marino co-consecrators were SSJ, Archbishop of Atlanta, and Alvaro Corrada del Rio SJ, Auxiliary Bishop of Washington.

On 18 May 2004 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
