Leopold Wilhelm, Margrave of Baden-Baden

Margrave Leopold Wilhelm of Baden (* September 16, 1626, † March 1, 1671 in Baden- Baden) was an imperial field marshal.

He is the second son of Margrave William of Baden and Catherine Ursula of Hohenzollern- Hechingen.

He was Reich Marshal, in Pomerania, he fought against the Swedes, in Hungary, he fought against the Turks. He was governor to Varazdin in Croatia.

Marriages and descendants

The first marriage of Leopold Wilhelm of Baden was 1659 with Anna Silvia Caretto, Countess of Millesimo (* 1607, † February 26, 1664 ). The marriage remained childless.

The second marriage of Leopold Wilhelm of Baden was on February 23, 1666 with Countess Maria Franziska von Fürstenberg- Heiligenberg (* May 18, 1633, † March 7, 1702 ), the daughter of Count Ernst Egon VIII of Fürstenberg - Heiligenberg. From this marriage the following children were born:
