Leos Carax

Leos Carax ( born November 22, 1960 in Suresnes, France, Alexandre Oscar Dupont actually ) is a French film director.

Life

Leos Carax was born Alexandre Oscar Dupont. His stage name is an anagram of his first name Alex and Oscar (Alex and Oscar are the characters played by actor Denis Lavant in Carax 's films ). Carax enthusiastic in his youth for astronomy and oceanography before his interest arose for the film. Prior to his career as a director, he worked as a film critic for the magazine Cahiers du cinéma.

Carax was first known when he surprisingly for his first feature film Boy Meets Girl in Cannes, won the Prix de la jeunesse 1984. With his next film The night is young, he was able to achieve, among others, at the Berlinale successes.
