Leptophos is a chemical compound from the group of Thiophosphonsäureester, which was produced by Velsicol to its prohibition in the U.S. in 1976.

Leptophos, by reaction of O - Methylphenylthiophosponylchlorid and 4 -bromo-2 ,5- dichlorophenol are obtained:
C7H8ClOPS C6H3BrCl2O → C13H10BrCl2O2PS HCl.
Use
Leptophos is used as an insecticide. The effect is based on inhibition of cholinesterases.
