Les Temps Modernes

Les Temps Modernes is founded by Jean -Paul Sartre in October 1945 literary- political magazine. It is published in Paris by Gallimard on a monthly basis.

Sartre was first editor in chief. One of the co-founders also included Simone de Beauvoir and Maurice Merleau -Ponty. The first editorial was composed of Raymond Aron, Simone de Beauvoir, Michel Leiris, Maurice Merleau -Ponty, Albert Ollivier and Jean Paulhan.

Currently, the magazine is published by Claude Lanzmann. The journal is assigned to the left of the spectrum and had long strong influence on public life in France.

The editorial staff now comprises, inter alia, Claude Lanzmann, Juliette Simont, Adrien Barrot, Joseph Cohen, Michel Deguy, Liliane Kandel, Jean Khalfa, Patrice Maniglier, Jean Pouillon, Robert Redeker, Marc Sagnol, Gérard Worms and Raphael Zagury -Orly.
