Let's Pollute is an American animated short film by Geefwee Boedoe from the year 2009.

Action

Is it today using cars and machinery easy to be a good polluters, this was much harder before the Industrial Revolution. Although man was from time immemorial an avid polluters - even the first settlers brought the Indians tons of garbage with - but could the environment again and again gain the upper hand against any pollution efforts. Only with the first machine and the Industrial Revolution, the good polluters finally prevailed.

To be a good polluters, is easy: you should buy and consume things, but never repaired. When disposing of the latest electronic waste should never waste separation play a role. Production

Boedoe had worked as an animator, among other things Pixar and DreamWorks since 1988. He began working on his own first animated film in 2006. Let's Pollute was completed in late 2009.

The animation of the film is hand -drawn look: he used to part drawing ink ( "India Ink" ) on plastic, the background was drawn with pen on paper. Prefabricated drawings were finally scanned and colored on the computer and reworked. Role models for the animation style were early works of the UPA, John Hubley films and short animation films as The Music Lesson.

The film is in the form of educational films of the 1950s and 1960s presented by a narrator and thus distorted satirical. Narrator of the film is Jim Thornton. In addition to the music of Roger Roger, the film also contains two songs which wrote Boedoe and recorded with musicians in the studio.

Let's Pollute is designed as the first part of a trilogy that arises time-critical questions. Part 2, Peace is for Sissies, is to deal with the military and the peace question, while Part 3, Try Ignorance, is to deal with educational issues.

Awards

Let's Pollute 2011 was nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against The Lost Thing itself.

On the Orlando Film Festival Let's Pollute 2009 was awarded as the best animated film.
