Łętowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Łętowo ( German Lantow, Schlawe / Pomerania ) is a village in the far east of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Sławno ( Schlawe ) in the powiat Slawienski ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

History

The earliest known owner of Lantow ( Low German: Lante ) was the Order of St. John. In 1321 the village was sold to the family of Massow on the orders of Vice Grand Master Gerard of Bortfeld. To 1410 Henning III. von Massow on Lantow and Suckow ( Żukowo ) called. In the latter half of the 17th century Massows had to abandon the village.
