Orfe ( Leuciscus idus )

Leuciscus (Greek leukos - shiny, bright, white, referring to the silver-colored scales on ) is a genus of the carp family. Their range extends across Europe, western and northern Asia. In general, there are freshwater residents who are in rivers and lakes at home. Some species are found in brackish water.

Features

There are relatively small-sized fish with an elongated, laterally slightly compressed body. The mouth is terminal or below constantly and bears no barbels. The sideline is always complete. The body is covered by medium to large scales. The dorsal and anal fin are quite short, the dorsal fin begins approximately at the level of the pelvic fins. Behind the pelvic fins of the abdomen is ungekielt. Leuciscus species have two rows of pharyngeal teeth, usually with the pharyngeal teeth formula 2.5 to 5.2; 3.5 to 5.3 or from 2.5 to 4.2.
