Lev Ivanov

Lev Ivanovich Ivanov (Russian Лев Иванович Иванов; * 18 Februarjul / 2 March 1834greg in Moscow, .. .. † 11 Dezemberjul / 24 December 1901greg in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian dancer, teacher, choreographer and ballet master. Ivanov was at the Kirov Ballet / Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg 's assistant ballet master Marius Petipa.

Work

1892 Ivanov choreographed at the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre the world premiere of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker.

Even today, the so-called "White Act " ( the Second and Fourth ) of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ( 1895) are danced to choreography by Ivanov.
