Lewis Taylor

Lewis Taylor is a British soul and funk artist and multi-instrumentalist.

He is the son of Jewish parents divorced and comes from the north of London.

After he had worked as a greengrocer, he took in the 1980s under the pseudonym " Sherrif Jack," two LPs, whose melodic rock Psychedilia tempted critics to compare with Jimi Hendrix or Prince.

Later, he again worked under his real name. The debut album was the self-titled "Lewis Taylor " from the year 1997. The album was hailed by critics. Lewis had recorded almost all the instruments himself. The songs were characterized by nested structures, virtuosity and sometimes cryptic lyrics and title. The commercial success did not materialize.

This shortcoming as well as the lack of support from major labels is continued throughout his later career. Of his fans, however, Lewis Taylor is seen as a musical genius.

The last attempt took Lewis Taylor with the "Lost Album ", which differs significantly from its predecessors. It is rather a tribute to sophisticated 1970s pop and reminds in style among others to Brian Wilson.

2006 announced Taylor, no longer to work in the music industry and no longer occur.
