Lewistown (Ohio)

Lewistown is a city in Logan County, Ohio, United States. In the United States Census 2000, the unincorporated area had 693 inhabitants.

Until the 1820s the area was inhabited by Shawnee. In the summer of 1832, the first white settlers moved to Lewistown. Henry Hanford, after the " Hanford Street" is named in Lewistown, opened the first general store ( "general store" ) and was also the first post manager of the place.
