Leyla Saz

Leylâ Saz ( Leila Leila Hanim or hanoum; * 1845 in Istanbul, † December 6, 1936 ibid ) was a Turkish composer.

Leylâ Saz received training in traditional Turkish and European music and play the piano. She lived as a poet and composer in Istanbul. She composed over two hundred instrumental and vocal works in the style of traditional Turkish art music, but they are influenced by European music and is one of the pioneers of modern Turkish music.
