Liam Cunningham

Liam Cunningham ( born June 2, 1961 in Dublin) is an Irish actor.

Life and career

Cunningham was born in Dublin's East Wall. He has three sisters and one brother and grew up in a catholic household. At the age of 15 years, Cunningham dropped out of school and started a job as an electrician. In the 1980s he moved three years in African Zimbabwe, where he worked in a safari park as trainers for domestic electrician.

After his return to Ireland he began training at drama school. He then worked in regional theaters. His first role in a feature film was in 1992 that a police officer in Into the West ( Into the West ). Later Cunningham had more appearances in films such as A Little Princess and The first knight. In 1996 he succeeded to the role of Philloston in drama Jude the final breakthrough.

Other well-known film projects in which Cunningham embodied major or minor roles include The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) and Clash of the Titans (2010). On television, he also plays since 2011 in the BBC series Outcast, the main role of President Richard Tate, and in the HBO series Game of Thrones in a supporting role to the knight Ser Davos Seaworth.

Cunningham is married and has three children. The family lives in Dublin.
