Liberal Party of Gibraltar

The Gibraltar Liberal Party is a liberal party in Gibraltar. Party chairman since 1992 Joseph Garcia.

The party was founded in 1991. In the parliamentary elections in 1992, the GLP approached for the first time, but could not win a seat. After the party in 1996 was unsuccessful in the general election, was elected at a by-election Joseph Garcia in the Gibraltar House of Assembly in 1999. Since 2000, the Gibraltar Liberal Party in elections forms an alliance with the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party. This brought her two seats in the parliamentary elections of 2000 and 2003. In the 2007 parliamentary elections they could improve to three seats.

The Gibraltar Liberal Party is a full member of the Liberal International.
