Liet-Lávlut

Liet ( Frisian for ' song ') is a series of musical competitions that take place in different European regions. The course of these competitions equivalent to the Euro Vision Grand Prix, where at Liet but the regional cultures of the participants are made ​​strongly to the fore. The participants represent either a regional music tradition or sing in one of the traditional minority languages ​​of Europe.

Liet began in 1991 in the West Frisian capital Leeuwarden. Since 2002, a Europe-wide edition of Liet found under the name of Liet Ynternasjonaal ( song International) almost a year. Participants will be chosen in different European regions to national or international preliminary rounds.

Liet - organizer of the Grand Prix is the Stichting Liet. The European Liet Ynternasjonaal is organized in collaboration with the European Bureau for Lesser Used Languages ​​.
