Lilium hansonii is a species in the genus of lilies ( Lilium) in the Martagon section. The species is found only in South Korea.

Description

Lilium hansonii is a perennial, herbaceous plant and reaches a height of 90 to 120 centimeters. The onion is big and round and consists of numerous white scales. The stem is firm and erect, the leaves are partly scattered, partly in two to four whorls. The leaves are sessile, 10 to 20 centimeters long and 1.5 to 4.5 centimeters wide, the whorls are narrower, scattered wide.

Bloom time is mid-May to late July. The inflorescence bears two to fifteen weakly downward -looking, yellow - orange and dark dotted flowers. Your seed germinates delayed - hypogeous.

Dissemination

Lilium hansonii is endemic to the South Korean island of Ulleungdo. There, it occurs at 300 to 1000 meters altitude between dense forests of deciduous and evergreen trees on volcanic soils with a high content of soil organic matter.
