Lilium kesselringianum is a species in the genus of lilies ( Lilium) in the Candidum section.

Description

Lilium kesselringianum is a perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches stature heights 70 to 175 cm. This Geophyt forms an onion with a diameter of 8 to 10 cm.

The spirally distributed around the bristly stems leaves are slender lanceolate, 9-13 cm long and 10 millimeters wide; Veins and margin are slightly bristly on the bottom.

The plants bloom from June to July with 5 to 20 trumpet - up tiaraförmigen nodding flowers. The 10 to 15 cm long flowers are wide open and smell strong, the diameter of a single flower is from 9 to 14 cm. The basic color of the flowers is pale yellow, tinged greenish at the base, with small violet spots in the throat. The six identically shaped bloom cladding ( tepals ) are recurved and linear- lanceolate. The 4-5 cm long stamens surrounding a, the 1.5 to 2 cm long, ovary at the base of the flower, fused tube. The stylus is 28 to 40 millimeters long. 7 to 11 mm long stamens ( anthers ) are pink to red-brown, the pollen is yellow to brown.

The seed germinates delayed - hypogeous.

Dissemination

Lilium kesselringianum can be found in the Caucasus and the northeast Turkey.
