Lilium wallichianum is a species in the genus of lilies ( Lilium) in the trumpet lilies section.

Description

Lilium wallichianum is a perennial, herbaceous plant and reaches a height of 90 to 200 centimeters. The bulbs up to 30 centimeters deep in the earth are approximately round and reach a height of 3 to 5 and a diameter of 3-6 centimeters, the individual scales are cream colored, 3 to 4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.

The numerous, spirally standing around the stem, linealischen leaves are 14 to 20 centimeters long and 0.3 to 0.8 inches wide, from the stem base to the middle, the leaves are larger and denser standing, from there less to tip over and redistributed. The leaves are fünfrippig The edge is wavy. The few bracts are leaf-like foliage.

The plant flowers from May with one or two horizontally stationary, 15 to 23 centimeters long, trumpet-shaped flowers on short stalks. From root to half the length of the flower is tubular and externally tinged strong green, then the six arranged bloom ( tepals ) turn on growing until the white perianth has a diameter of 14-16 centimeters. The filamentous green stamens are 12 to 14 inches long, the linealischen to oblong, yellow anthers reach a length of 1.5 to 3 and a thickness of 0.2 to 0.25 centimeters. The pollen is golden. The green pen is 11 to 15 inches long. The linealische ovary is 4 to 5 inches long and 0.2 to 0.4 inches thick, to September maturing, oblong seed pods are up to 10 centimeters long.

The seeds ripen from October to November and germinate instant- epigeal in a cold period. Germination takes between two and four weeks.

Dissemination

Lilium wallichianum is in India ( Uttar Pradesh ), Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Myanmar can be found on meadows to hills on sandy soils at altitudes 1350-3000 m.
