Lilly Kilvert
Lilly Kilvert ( born October 14, 1950 as Elizabeth D. Kilvert in Providence, Rhode Iceland, United States) is an American movie designer.
Life and work
Elizabeth " Lilly" Kilvert received her artistic training at the New York Lester Polokov School of set design. Then they made contact with the stage and film. Since 1977 she has worked as a film designer. At first, Lilly Kilvert involved in the production of several underdogs and first films by directors such as Claudia Weill, Susan Seidelman and Kathryn Bigelow.
Later, she also designed the Filmbauten to expensive mainstream productions such as Wolfgang Petersen thriller In the Line of Fire - The Second Chance, an adaptation of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, the remake of Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire, City of Angels and the two Tom Cruise major productions Last Samurai and Valkyrie - The Stauffenberg assassination, where Lilly Kilvert showed that she was able to create Japanese and German historical worlds.
For their designs to Legends of the Fall and The Last Samurai Lilly Kilvert received an Academy Award nomination respectively.
