Lily Brett

Lily Brett ( born September 5, 1946 in Feldafing; native Lilijahne breitstein; Luba also Brajsztajn ) is an Australian-American writer.

Lily Brett was born in 1946 in a Bavarian DP camp, a camp for displaced persons in Feldafing in Germany. Her parents were married in the ghetto of Lodz, were separated in Auschwitz and found each other after six months. 1948 the family emigrated to Australia. At 19, Lily Brett began to write for a rock magazine, among other things, she interviewed the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Who and the Rolling Stones. She is married to the painter David Rankin and now lives with him and their three children in New York.

Lily Brett is best known for the novel Just like that.
