Limelight Records

Limelight Records was a sub label of Mercury Records mostly for jazz.

The sub-label was initiated in 1963 by Quincy Jones and directed by Jack Tracy. At first she published well-known jazz musicians such as Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson, Oscar Peterson, Les McCann, Roland Kirk, Earl Hines, Chet Baker, Eric Dolphy, Benny Carter and Gerry Mulligan. In the late 1960s, they changed the focus to electronic and experimental music, Indian music and psychedelic rock.

The catalog is now on Verve, the newly brought out some of the albums on CD.
