Lincoln Heights (Los Angeles)

Lincoln Heights is a residential neighborhood northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California.

Geography

Geographically Lincoln Heights is bounded to the west by the Los Angeles River, the south by the San Bernardino Freeway, on the east by the Soto Street and north through hilly country. Interstate 5 passes through the district. The Metro Gold Line connects the district of the stop " Lincoln / Gypress Park " by public transport. Lincoln Heights is close to Chinatown and Cypress Park.

History

The history of Lincoln Heights dates back to the 1870s. The district was one of the first of Los Angeles. Initially lived here most wealthy citizens, who built a number of Victorian houses. Today these are supervised by the monuments. Because of the industrial development at the beginning of the 20th century saw the pollution attracted the wealthy citizens continue to Hollywood.
