The Lincoln Highway is a highway in the south of the Australian state of South Australia. It connects the Eyre Highway in Lincoln Gap, south-west of Port Augusta, along the eastern coastline of the Eyre Peninsula with the Flinders Highway in Port Lincoln. The Lincoln Highway was part of Alternative 1 of the National Highway 1 in Australia.

Course

The Lincoln Highway begins in Lincoln Gap, 26 km south-west of Port Augusta, where he branches off the Eyre Highway ( NA1 ) to the south. After 75 km he reached the city of Whyalla, a center of the steel industry in South Australia.

On the way to the southwest happened the Lincoln Highway Cowell, where the Birdseye Highway ( B91 ) branches off to the west. The next settlements are the fishing villages of Arno Bay and Tumby Bay, Port Lincoln before the road reached. Port Lincoln has a major port, the center of a fleet to fish for tuna. In Port Lincoln of the Lincoln Highway ends and is continued to the west in the Flinders Highway ( B100).
