Lindau is a district of the city of Zerbst / Anhalt in the district of Anhalt- Bitterfeld, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).

Geography

Lindau in Vorfläming lies between the towns of Zerbst and Möckern. The northern Nuthe bends here, coming from the northwest, towards the south. Above this bend in the river lies the castle of Lindau. Lindau belongs to the 2005 declared Natural Park flaming.

History

On the site of the bailey settlement remains have been found dating from the 9th and 10th centuries. The Lindau Castle appeared in 1179 the first time in a document.
