Linden Oak

The Linden Oak in North Bethesda, Maryland is the largest White Oak in the United States. The germinated in the 1720s oak was originally thought to be at the boundary between the open farmland to the west and the wooded valley of Rock Creek, now known as Rock Creek Park, in the east. According to the master plan for North Bethesda it belongs to the protected "historic resources".

The oak tree is located at the intersection of Rockville Pike and the Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park. As the metro built of Washington, the tracks a particular curve was added to protect the tree.

The status as the largest white oak had the Wye Oak, which was located in the Wye Oak State Park in the town of Wye Mills, Maryland and overturned in a storm on 6 June 2002 since 1941.
