Lindtorf is a district of the municipality Eichstedt ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

Lindtorf located in the Altmark region between the lamp and the Elbe, about nine kilometers north of Stendal.

History

Lindtorf was originally founded by the Wends as Rundlingsdorf, but evolved into a pile village. In 1431 it took its first documentary mention. The village church was built during the first half of the 12th century from boulders, wherein the tower probably was come until the 14th century.

Until December 31, 2009 Lindtorf was an independent municipality with the associated district Rindtorf, which was incorporated on 1 July 1950. Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities have Baben ( 27 January 2009 ), Eichstedt (Altmark ) ( 11 February 2009 ) and Lindtorf ( 29 January 2009 ) decided that their communities dissolved and a new community with the name Eichstedt (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 5 May 2003 by the regional council of Magdeburg.

Blazon: " Split of red and silver, a silver rising front left inverted dragon with golden knocked-out tongue and reinforcement, behind a red rising beef with black horns and claws around his neck a golden ribbon with two abflatternden ends. "

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg Kommunalheraldiker Jörg Mantzsch.
