Linear actuator
As a linear drive or a linear drive system, all the drive systems are referred to, resulting in a translational movement. Linear actuators allow the movement of machines ( elements ) and systems ( share ) in a straight line or a different preset course.
In the technical design, there is this:
- Ball screws ( threaded rod drives)
- Roller Screws Roller screw with roller recirculation
- Planetary roller screw
- Linear motors with electrodynamic action principle
- Linear actuators with piezoelectric, electrostatic, electromagnetic, magnetostrictive or thermoelectric active principle
The maximum travel of linear drives can be enlarged by a series connection of several drives as in telescope drives. With linear drives is also possible to produce non-linear movements, for example via the crankshaft or with the help of a hexapod.
