Lino Červar [li ː nɔ tʃɛrʋar ] ( born September 22, 1950 in Delici in Vrsar, Croatia) is a handball coach from Croatia and a deputy in the Croatian Parliament ( Sabor ). Many years he was coach of the Croatian men's national handball team. In July 2010, he stepped down as national team coach. Since 2009, he trained the Macedonian team RK Metalurg Skopje.

Life

Červar castle in Pula from the pedagogical academy. He's since December 22, 2003 parliamentary deputy of the Croatian Democratic Union ( HDZ). Since December 2012, he also owns the Macedonian citizenship.

Achievements

With the RK Zagreb won Lino Červar 2001 and 2002, the Croatian Premijer league. With Papillon Conversano 2003 he was Italian champion and cup winner. On his return to Zagreb he won from 2005 to 2009 every year, the Double. In the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2004/ 05 he only lost in the final Ademar León. Since 2009, he coached the emerging Macedonian club RK Metalurg Skopje. There he took in 2010, 2011 and 2012 the championship in 2010 and 2011 as well as the trophy. He led Metalurg in the EHF Champions League 2012/13 and 2013/14 quarter-finals.

As a coach of the Italian national team Červar qualified for the World Handball Championship men in Japan in 1997 and the European Handball Championship in Italy in 1998. He won with the Croatian national team in Handball World Championship 2003 in Portugal and Croatia led once to gold at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. In the final of the World Cup in Tunisia in 2005 was subject to the Spaniards and became Vice World Champion. At the 2008 European Championships in Norway, Croatia lost narrowly to Denmark and became vice - European champion. At the home World Cup in Croatia, he failed again to bring his team to the World Championship title. He lost his team the final against France with 24:19. At the European Championships in Austria in 2010, his team was beaten again in the final of France.
