Lippo Hertzka

Lippo Hertzka (* unknown as Hertzka Lipót, † March 14, 1951 in Montemor -o -Novo, Portugal) was a Hungarian football player and coach.

Career as a coach

Real Sociedad committed Lippo Hertzka as a player after he had noticed them positively in a friendly match against the Essenes Gymnastics Federation. After his playing career at the txuri - urdin he began his coaching career with them in 1923. After three years he moved to Athletic Bilbao, and after another two years he came to Sevilla FC in 1928. With this team he could celebrate his first success in 1929, as you master the Segunda División was. In 1930 he moved to Real Madrid and led them to victory their first Spanish championship in the 1931/32 season. Despite his success in the championship, he was probably in 1932 dismissed because of their early exit in the Copa del Rey and internally replaced by Pedro Llorente and later president Santiago Bernabéu. Just three more years remained Hertzka in Spain and coached the teams Hércules CF and Recreativo Granada. 1935 he left Spain and eventually became a coach at Benfica in Portugal. In 1939 he moved to city rivals Belenenses Lisbon and 1942 for FC Porto, but with two clubs he could not build on the successful times. In 1947, he finally returned to Benfica Lisbon and finished the following year his coaching career.
