List of governors of Andhra Pradesh

The following table lists the Governors of Andhra Pradesh with respective term of office. The state was formed under the name of Andhra on October 1, 1953 the Telugu districts of the State of Madras and was the first by language barriers newly created Indian state. On November 1, 1956, the State by the States Reorganisation Act has been increased by more telugusprachige areas out of the former State of Hyderabad and acquired its current name Andhra Pradesh.
