List of Ministers for Public Health (Uruguay)

The Ministry of Public Health ( Ministerio de Salud Pública span ) ( MSP) is one of the ministries of the State of Uruguay.

The responsibilities of the Ministry include the control of all public and private health care centers. The position of the Minister of Health was established on September 5, 1933 during the reign of Gabriel Terra. The on January 12, 1934, adopted Act No. 9202, known as the Ley Orgánica de Salud Pública formed the basis for the establishment of the Ministry. Under this statutory scheme, the two then existing institutions, the Consejo Nacional de Asistencia Pública Nacional Higiene and were merged. The first director of the newly created authority was Eduardo Blanco Acevedo. The Ministry was headed since March 1, 2010 by Daniel Olesker, of which its vormaliger Secretary Jorge Enrique Venegas July 19, 2011 took over the Ministry Leadership. In February 2013 were Susana Muñiz new health minister.
