List of palaces in Bratislava

The list of the palace in Bratislava includes both existing and already torn Palace in Bratislava. A large part of the palaces is located in the historical center, the Stare Mesto.

Numerous palaces were built from old Austrian and Hungarian nobility, and there is also a large number of palace -like buildings. Mainly driven by the war, but also in the communist era dilapidated palaces were demolished and the gaps filled with new buildings.

The list is organized as follows:

  • Name: As many palace had various owners, they are more often known by different names, so sometimes double names are mentioned. The order of the names is then determined by the chronology of ownership. Had an owner of several palaces, which lead a double-barreled name, the street name is given for distinction.
  • Address: Address of the palace. With the exception of the former Palais Berchtold in Nové Mesto district (see below ), all Palais specified here are in the Stare Mesto neighborhood.
  • Year Built: Year built under the year of completion is specified. Since many palace were rebuilt several times or renovated, the annual number always refers to the first state. In the former Palais termination year is specified.
  • Architect: As an architect is always called the person responsible for the prototyping architect.
  • Style: Only main styles specified and no detailed classification (eg historicism and not neo ).
