List of subcamps of Sachsenhausen

This list distributes outside of the concentration camp Sachsenhausen, Oranienburg near Berlin, between 1942 and 1945. The terms sub-camp and camp - side bearings are used interchangeably.

The list may include also external commands, one of which (initially) were led out of the inmates daily to the site of forced labor without an independent warehouse organization existed. An external command says in contrast to the subcamp a more or less large group of prisoners who are guided to a concentration camp from day to their place of use as slave laborers under guard. It was variously mean that from outside the camp emerged gradually independent concentration camp under the administration of a main camp or within the SS Economic and Administrative Main Office (SS Economic-Administrative Main ).

In the Berlin armaments industry developed from 1942 more than 100 external storage and external commands, eg near Siemens, DEMAG tanks, Henschel -Werke, Daimler -Benz, IG Colors and AEG. This daily met thousands of German at work or on the way large amounts of concentration camp prisoners, some of them worked in the same hall as this. Some of them controlled as overseer or master their activities and their results and had the opportunity to influence their living conditions through a contact with the SS guard.

From May 1936 to May 1937 the Heinkel works in Oranienburg and Germendorf were built because the main plant in Rostock- Marie marriage was technical production at full capacity. In this new work was also an outdoor camp where up to 5,000 prisoners had to work.

Here brick for many of Albert Speer's major building projects in Berlin were produced ( plans to world capital Germania ).
