This is a list of universities in Iceland. There are four public universities in Iceland and three private universities, which are managed by foundations.

State universities

• University of Iceland ( Háskóli Íslands, to her belongs the independent until 2008 College of Education Islands Kennaraháskóli Íslands )
• University of Akureyri ( Akureyri Háskólinn á )
• University Hólar ( Háskólinn á Hólar )
• Agricultural Research Institute of Iceland ( Landbúnaðarháskóli Íslands ) in Hvanneyri

Private universities

• Reykjavík University ( Háskólinn í Reykjavík )
• Bifrost University ( Háskólinn á Bifrost )
• Art Academy Islands ( Listaháskóli Íslands )
