Listoghil

The megalithic site of Listoghil (Irish Lios to tSeagail ) is located on the highest point of the Stone Age cemetery at Carrowmore and is 34 meters in diameter, the largest monument under the resulting systems of Carrowmore in County Sligo in Ireland. It bears since the Monument Image by George Petrie in 1837 the name Carrowmore 51

The dolmen of Listoghil is a passage tomb, surrounded by a group of about half as large dolmens. Unlike them, the monument is dug in the ground under a Cairn partially preserved. Listoghil was built in 3640-3380 BC. The chamber has six supporting stones and a large limestone slab as a capstone. It is a rare example of megalithic art outside the Boyne Valley in the form of concentric circles or an abnormal tripod. As workers who were stones for road construction, the Chamber discovered the destruction of Cairns has been set. From the 18th century comes evidence that another grave hill near was, but the trading under the name Leacharail system has not yet been found.
