( Listen? / I ) Lith is a former municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Since 1 January 2011 it belongs to the municipality of Oss. Lith located on the Meuse; is at Lith a system with two locks, the boat trip on the Maas independent of the water level make ( Prinses Máxima Sluizen: 110 mx 14 m width and 220 mx 18 m width). This lock system is (seen from the Maas estuary from ) the first in the river; to Lith are effects of the tides on the water level of the river Meuse perceive.

Lith is made ​​famous by the book Dorp aan de Rivier ( village on the river ) by Antoon Coolen. The movie for this book by Fons Rademakers was shot in Lith. In 1956 he was nominated for an Oscar ( for best foreign film ).
