The University of Health Sciences, Lithuania (Lithuanian Lietuvos Sveikatos mokslų universitetas, LSMU ) is a university in Kaunas. It originated from the merger of two predecessor institutions in 2010.

History

The University of Health Sciences, Lithuania continues the tradition of the Medical Faculty of the University was founded in 1922 in Lithuania. After the closure or destruction of this university was the medical establishment from 1950 to 1998 as an independent Kaunas Medical Institute.

From 1989 was the establishment of the Medical Academy in 1998 was renamed to Medical University. In 2010, Lithuanian Veterinary Academy and close the Medical University together to the University of Health Sciences, Lithuania.
