Lívia Gyarmathy

Gyarmathy ( born January 8, 1932 in Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian film director and screenwriter.

Life and work

Gyarmathy was born in 1932 in Budapest, studied literature and later engineering, however, broke both his studies in favor of a job as a chemist before 1961 again to study at the Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, majoring in directing, enrolled. Together with their fellow students Pál Sándor and Sándor Simó she obtained a diploma in 1964.

Gyarmathy initially staged documentaries, as in 1967 the award-winning strip embassy to the conscience, but later also full-length feature films, some of which were also excellent. For her feature film debut, they know Sunday - Monday? (1968), she wrote the screenplay with her ​​husband Géza Böszörményi. Some of her works have been exhibited in Germany, such as wait a minute!
