Ljubiša Samardžić

Ljubisa Samardzic ( Serbian Cyrillic Љубиша Самарџић; born November 19, 1936 in Skopje, Kingdom of Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian actor and director.

His talent for the play showed up early and he got a scholarship to the Belgrade Drama Academy. His mentor was the director Bojan Stupica. Samardzic played at the theater before 1961 his first role in the film Igre na got skelama. He quickly became one of the most popular actors in Yugoslavia. Many of his films were box office hits. He achieved international fame was starring in purisa Djordjevic anti-war film A Serbian morning known, for which he was honored in 1967 with the Best Actor award at the film festival in Venice.

His prices include the Academy Award Ivo Andrić for his life's work. In August 1995 he received the Pavle Vuisić Prize for his life's work and its role in the Yugoslav film.

With his son Dragan Samardzic, he founded the film production company Cinema Design.

Since 1960, he is married to Mirjana Samardzic.
